2019 Cable Channel Lineup

Spectrum has instituted our new channel lineup; all channels have changed.  Please know, we do not have control over which local or regional affiliates they have contracted for area channels.  Thank you for understanding we cannot change the lineup.  With 156 HD Channels, we hope you find new entertaining options.

We are pursuing Spectrum with regard to reinsertion of our Sandy Pines Channels, our more “local” network channels and insertion of Fox Sports Detroit on the Regional Sports Network.  We cannot make promises, but please know we are repeatedly asking for resolution of these issues.

As of Friday, April 19 Spectrum did notify us that some of our local programming was integrated back into our lineup however we don’t have official confirmation of which channels. We do recommend re scanning channels on a weekly basis during this process to make sure you have access to the most recent channel lineups.

Each TV you have will need to be individually scanned.  We recommend a power cycle to start – unplug each TV and let it rest for a full two minutes.  Power on, then go to your TV’s menu system, choose cable as your source, and rescan all channels.  For older TV’s it may take more than one scan.

If after a full power cycle and scan, your TV says “No Signal,” there may be a problem with a connection or the drop coming into your unit.  Check the cable connections on the TV and at any installed splitters.  If the connections inside and out are solid and after a second power cycle/channel scan, and, if ALL of your TV’s still say “No Signal,” call Member Service for a Spectrum appointment.  An adult must be present for Spectrum to enter your site. If you have multiple TV’s and one or two work, but one doesn’t, there is likely a problem with the splitter or the cable running to that TV, which is your responsibility.  Splitters, connectors and small jump cables are available at Member Service to help with troubleshooting.  If you insist on a service call and the technician arrives to find you only needed a channel scan, you will be charged the service call fee of $165.00, no exceptions.

Can we pick up a channel, line up from the office? We got more channels, with less quality to watch. Think we need to vote what channels we want and get rid of the rest. This is worse then what we had.

Yes, we have printed lineups at Member Service. It is also important to note that we do not have choices when it comes to what channels Charter Spectrum provides on our bulk contract. Those are decided on their national & regional programming level.

Looks good to me!! I am seeing all of the channels that I watch at home and enough sports channels to keep my grown sons happy when they visit!

    • Sandy Pines on March 25, 2019 at 1:03 pm

Thanks Mary. We hope 156 channels will offer enough entertainment to cover down time when not experiencing all our park has to offer in the great outdoors!

I do not see foxsports detroit for the tigers? Was it just missed

    • Sandy Pines on March 25, 2019 at 1:05 pm

We’ve had issues with Fox Sports being dropped in the past. Again, this is negotiated by Charter Spectrum on their national & regional programming level. If we get any updates on this from Charter Spectrum, we’ll be sure to pass them on to the membership.

Are we going to have a TV guide?

    • Sandy Pines on March 25, 2019 at 1:07 pm

Charter Spectrum is expected to provide a channel listing. It will not be an interactive TV guide like most are used to on residential services. It will be similar to the scrolling channel lineup we’ve had in the past.

Wow…excellent line up. What an improvement. I will actually be able to watch t.v. again instead of just recordings.

No Fox Sports Detroit, No Tigers Baseball? Might as well not have cable.

Thank you for negotiating a new package due to the changes at Spectrum and keeping our costs down! The only request or suggestuon I have is; is it possible to get the channel lineup in alphabetical (station) order, in addition to the numerical (channel) order?

    • Sandy Pines on March 25, 2019 at 1:09 pm

You’re welcome Bryan! It is possible and we will provide an alphabetical lineup in addition to the numerical lineup. We’re working on it now and will pass it on as soon as it’s complete. Thanks for the suggestion.

Is there going to be a channel guide that tells us what is on at a certain particular time? All other cable companies have it. This is what has been missing on our last cable deal. Also why again do we have a number.number instead of just a number.

    Thanks Dirk

Our bulk cable service is similar to what you’d see at a hotel. This service is different from residential cable on many technological levels. Charter Spectrum does not currently have an interactive TV Guide for bulk services like we have in the park. The 9.1, 9.2, etc decimal format is one of the main differences between bulk and residential service. The HD channels aren’t whole numbers, hence you get decimals.

I agree. An alphabetical list would be much appreciated!

Can we please get an alphabetical listing ?

We also would love to have a guide that shows what is actually airing on each channel – the channel surfing to find a good show gets old cereal fast.

I have downloaded the TV guide app on my phone which shows programs and times by channel. I cross reference the channel lineup for sandy pines to get the channel number. Works pretty well and I can even setup reminders in the app when my favorite shows are on!

Thanks for sharing, that is good info to know!

TV time for us while at Sandy Pines is mainly THE DETROIT TIGER games!!! Not happy..

I find it interesting that we never had an individual choice of whether to have cable TV or not. I get that offering it to everyone provides better pricing, but for those that would rather or can do without, it isn’t saving money for those members. And in today’s environment of so many other choices and opting out of cable, you’d think we would also have options.

We are very unhappy loosing channel l 3. It covers the western side of the state. We are not interested in what is happening in Lansing.
